With recent BLM Movement, the primary emphasis swepting across the nation is the elimination of discrimination and promotion of inclusion and diversity. The root of discrimination is stereotype and prejudice.
A stereotype is an assumption that a group of people who share some characteristics also share certain attributes.
Prejudice is a belief about a person or group based on a false or negative stereotype.
Discrimination is an action when someone acts on their prejudiced beliefs in words and actions.
With the upcoming November election, this is a time of chaos and confusion riddled with half-truths and plain lies from politicians. This is the time that we need to see each individual issue clearly in its own merit without the stereotyping and contamination of idealogies of special interest groups and political parties.
Pro-police does not equal “Right” nor implies Republican nor white supremacy. Anti-Police does not equal to “Left” nor implies Democrates nor socialism. Matter fact, some of the best examples of the extreme totalitarian police states are those of communists, like North Korea, China, and Soviet Union.
By putting oneself into a general political category and follows the pre-defined position of a party is blinding at the best and biased and discriminatory at the worst.
Put the truth before politics
